Wintry Calamigos Equestrian Love: Rachelle & Jay Married!

Good Morning, Lovelies!resized for blogThe holly has been hung, the scent of spiced cider is in the air, and it is actually raining in SoCal. Holiday merriment is everywhere you look, and we at Marisa Nicole love every second of it (aside from the rain, that is). To revel in all the season has to offer, today we’re sharing Rachelle & Jay’s winter wonderland styled wedding.resized for blog-8Rachelle & Jay hold a very special place in my heart. I just adored working with them and to this day they are the only couple I’ve helped that I haven’t had to strain my neck to look up at (for those of you who don’t know me personally, I’m rather small in stature). For once in my career, we were all on the same level and it was glorious! With Rachelle living in Hong Kong during most of the wedding planning process, Jay and I were left to work out the details in bringing their winter wonderland vision to life (constantly teetering along line between a cheesy Christmas-themed wedding and the frozen elegance feel we were going for!).resized for blog-5To that end, we worked with a palate of snowy white, glimmering silver, peacock blue and splashes of purple. As a focal point on the invitations, scattered throughout the room in the lighting design, and even at the base of our floral centerpieces, we played with bringing in snowflakes of different forms throughout the day. Traditional table numbers were substituted for the word ‘snow’ in languages from around the world. Rachelle even DIY’d several snowflake strands that we hung with a white curtain behind the sweetheart table. Foxy, foxy, foxy!resized for blog-6resized for blog-2From the moment that flowing curtains were opened to the reception area, guests were “oohing” and “ahhing” over the amount of detail that went into bringing the couple’s vision to life. We blanketed the tables with an elegant ice-cold aquamarine shimmering linen. The table centerpieces were adorned with all-white flowers and branches. Half of the arrangements featured soft and ruffled blooms, while others showcased branches paired with snowy baby’s breath at its best (watch out friends, this filler flower has made a huge comeback in the last year or so and it looks like it is here to stay for a while). All arrangements were paired with silver mercury glass vessels and frosted candles galore. To top off each table, we stuffed branded menus into sparkling white napkins.resized for blog-7Bringing in touches of sparkle and shine throughout the space was super important in creating a sense of enchantment. Rachelle handcrafted a diamond-studded stand as the base for the snowy white cake! We incorporated the use of both twinkle and up-lights throughout the room. Bits of bling dangled from the ceiling, reflecting the glow of the pretty lights.resized for blog-4Finally, to encourage everyone to make merry during the holiday season, holly was hung in every nook and cranny we could find. The guests ate like royalty, danced the night away, and captured fab moments with their besties in the photo booth!resized for blog-3We hope this winter-wonderland styled wedding has inspired all you holiday brides out there, and happy One-Year Anniversary, Jay and Rachelle! We wish each of you a merry holiday season filled with dreams of sugarplums, fairies and snow-covered weddings!Vendor Love:
