Love at La Venta Inn: Alexis & Jeff Married!
Happy Wedding Wednesday, Lovelies!
The turkey has been roasted, the pumpkin pie has been ravished and December is upon. As we all took a few moments last week to reflect on those things we are thankful for this past year, I have come to find that one of the things I am most thankful for are clients who have a great sense of style, love the design part of the wedding planning process and are excited to dive into aesthetics with me. Anyone who knows me well, knows that crafting the look & feel for a celebration is my absolute favorite part of my job, and when I have a client who is super excited to collaborate and has an eye for design, then I am in heaven. Alexis was precisely this bride. As an architect, she knew what she was doing when it came to lines, balance, texture, etc... I am getting all kinds of excited just thinking about it. We had the best gosh darn time crafting the day of details and bringing the love-birds dream wedding to life.
To make things even better, the couple choose to get married at one of my top pick venues, La Venta Inn, and choose a blue and gold based pallet (which again, if you know me, you know this to be another one of my personal faves). They wanted an intimate, cozy, coastal fête. We crafted a day where everything looked fabulous, tasted amazing and had an overall air of easy elegance. Alexis wanted the whole place to glow, so we utilized candles and lanterns galore (almost to the point of over-kill, but this is a line I have yet to come across). We wove twinkle lights and chiffon draping into the design plan to bring across the relaxed take on a classic look with touches of enchantment that the couple was looking for. Alexis surprised her new hubby with a cake that gave homage to his favorite sports team (a team whose game schedule mandated the date of the wedding) and the guests danced the night away to a live band.
