Wedding season is in full swing, love is in the air and today I’m happy to share with you one of our swoon-worthy DIY weddings from last year. It is true, we at Marisa Nicole have been so preoccupied with throwing fabulous fetes that we’ve been quite delinquent in sharing our weddings with you; but fear not my friend, today all that ends!

David & Donna wed last summer at one of LA’s very own rustic 'blank-slate' venues, Ahmanson Ranch in Calabasas. Although this location is gorgeous on it’s own, the couple’s love for each other - coupled with Donna’s talent for all things crafty - brought out the best in this little ranch.

One thing I loved about this wedding was how the bride wasn’t afraid to mix aesthetic genres! We combined laid back vintage touches with clean pops of color and natural elements with modern décor to create the perfect wedding cocktail of equal parts - romantic, gorgeous & fun.

Donna handmade everything from flowers to the cake topper. We swapped out traditional bouquets for super cute parasols and ceremony arrangements for oversized balloons to create a relaxed environment where guests could kick back and enjoy both the views and the booze (hey, I rhymed!). David dreamed up and built an all-in-one s’mores station for their guests to enjoy.

The couple, along with their nearest and dearest, feasted on cupcakes and danced the night away. Thankfully, Patrick Yandoc was there to capture each and every moment.
