Here at Marisa Nicole, we pride ourselves on crafting distinctive celebrations that tell the love story of our couples. One area that we always encourage our love birds to get creative in is how they communicate table assignments to their guests. Taking care of this logistical item in a unique and unexpected manner is a great way to share more about our bride & groom’s personalities, embrace the theme of day, and tie in the overall look and feel we are going for. We just love it when our couples take this opportunity to share their style – from simply writing names on tented cards to utilizing photos of guests to attaching cute tags to favors – anything is possible!
This weekend, we fell in love with these cute “message in a bottle” name cards below, which were hand-made by our bride. Each little bottle had a guest’s name that could be seen from the outside. The guests then proceeded to take out their “message” and discover what table number they were assigned to. It was a fun mini scavenger hunt! We ‘buried’ the bottles in boxes filled with sand, which made it easy to place the names alphabetically so guests could easily find their own special bottle. And the guests just loved it!
If you want to go with the more traditional approach of writing names on place cards, make sure you do the math first! It’s important to count the number of cards in advance to make it easier to divide into even rows and columns on your display table. Be warned – any pictures or floral arrangements placed in between the name cards can throw off your count!
We hope that you enjoyed this Tuesday Tip!
