Emma the new intern here! After my first wedding here in Los Angeles, I thought it was only right to give you a sneak peek of Sarah and Matt’s lovely backyard celebration…
The wedding was at a private residence in the Santa Rosa valley and personally, I don’t think I’ve ever seen any views quite like it (not even in Wales, my friends)! Marisa and I worked really hard to make the whole event both beautiful and comfortable for the happy couple and their guests. From the lanterns in the trees to the cozy blankets and flirty flip-flops, the day was simply glorious. We started the evening with the cocktail hour set around the home owner’s pool with candles and glowing lanterns placed all around. The ceremony was intimate and lovely under a set of trees overlooking rolling hills. The layout was fabulous and Sarah looked stunning.
This was a very much a DIY wedding as Sarah and Matt made much of their decor from scratch. They gave out mason jars wrapped with burlap as the evening’s favor and utilized them to help guests find their seat. Sarah cut each burlap table runner herself and even designed the floral centrepieces, which her friends were so great to put together (and I’m sure you’ll agree with me that they looked fantastic). One of the things that amazed me was how many of their friends pitched in from set-up to tear-down! Sarah and Matt clearly have some great friends and are very special people.
I can’t tell you how much fun I had working with Marisa and this couple on their big day. I even tried my first s’more (and it was good!). Here are a few photos I took of their big day, I hope you enjoy this preview of their wedding from my point of view!
