Love at Happy Trails: Caroline & Kurt Married!

Happy Friday Friends!

Today I’m going to share with you one of my favorite weddings from last year! The whole ceremony and celebration took place at a venue that is near and dear to my heart: the enchanting Happy Trails Catering in Pasadena.

I’m sure that with one look at these photos, you’ll fall in love with both this couple and this venue! Where else can you get the gorgeous combination of red brick and garden greens with a fabulous tree right in the middle of all the action? I am seriously in love with this wedding location in case you can’t tell!

I still think Caroline’s shoes just might be my favorite wedding shoe selection to date: just the right combo of sassy and bridal! And check out the super cute flower embellishment on her dress… seriously! Kurt had fun with his guys’ look as well: with the sunglasses and chucks, it made for a well styled, yet comfortable crew of men to back him up.

I’m so glad I was a part of this fun and magical wedding shot by the talented crew at Hello Studios (also check out this wedding’s feature on Something Turquoise!).

Love at Middle Ranch Lodge: Kurt & Cynthia Married!

Cynthia_&_Kurt_Wedding_0813Thank God It’s Friday friends!

Remember that great looking couple that was featured a few weeks back in our Tuesday Tips: Making a Splash While Breaking Glass post? As promised, I shall not make you wait any longer to see more of their beautiful wedding!

Kurt & Cynthia’s wedding is definitely one of my fondest memories as a wedding planner to date. It was really a pleasure helping them get married. I hate to pick favorites, but this couple is seriously one of my favorite set of love birds to help tie the knot. Why you may ask? Well, read on…

Their day was absolutely gorgeous and thankfully Iris & Light was there to capture each and every moment. The wedding was held at the Middle Ranch Lodge, which is a functioning ranch that is just lovely and filled with greenery. They were going for an ‘Italian Summer’ style with a touch of vintage and I think the whole thing turned out wonderfully. The flowers were designed by another one of my favs, Margit Holakoui who designed everything in white and green (and just little touches of blue). I am squealing with delight just thinking about it! The chuppah was made by Cynthia’s father and various mason jars for their centerpieces were collected from several trips to the flea market. One of the details in this wedding that makes me swoon is the tile table numbers. What I love about the whole ‘Italian Summer’ look is the easiness and simple elegance of it all.  Yes friends, I myself am kind of in love with this style! Going along with this theme of simple elegance, Cynthia wore a fabulous Nicole Miller dress.  Don’t you just love the back?!? They ended out the night with dancing to indie music compliments of Sean Sweeney who has all his records on vinyl. I can safely say that a good time was had by all!

Looking back on their wedding, I can describe it as a pure celebration of their love. Their friends and family gathered around the couple to honor their union and it was like you could feel the joy from miles away. This is probably because Cynthia & Kurt are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. She is a social worker and he is an author. Together they make quite the dynamic duo of sincerity and generosity. Believe me when I tell you that they are seriously ‘salt of the earth’ kind of people.

At the end of the night, they were so concerned with lending a hand during clean up that they were the last ones to leave the venue with me! At one point, I turned around to see Kurt, in his tux, carrying out one of the DJ’s speakers, and Cynthia, in her bridal gown, loading a box of records into the DJ’s car. I’ve never seen this before or since (and almost had a cow when I saw it this time), but that just shows you how caring this couple is. I hope you enjoy the images from this wedding as much as I enjoyed being a part of Cynthia & Kurt’s special day!

Love at the Smog Shoppe: Mallory & Davin Married!

IMG_4347Mallory & Davin got married last year at our of our favorite LA venues, the Smog Shoppe! What makes the Smog Shoppe so great is that it has so much eye candy built into the venue that you really don’t have to do much to create a fantastic, modern backdrop for your wedding. Yes, I’m in love with both this wedding space and this couple!dsc2468-e1337214868850

_DSC2350I first met Mallory & Davin at Intelligentsia in Venice for coffee. I knew from the very beginning that they were my  kind of couple (when I asked them what they liked to do together, they both said “Brunch”, I mean what could be better?).

I was honored to be a part of making their day glorious!

Mallory was very much a DIY bride: from the photobooth to the wedding flowers, Mallory’s hand was in every last detail of the day’s decor. Her creativity and organization rallied everyone around her to pitch in to make this wedding happen._DSC2234

Mallory’s mom took on the centerpieces, while her dad was charged with the photobooth logistics, the DJ was a close friend, as was their sweets table baker and their photographer is a cousin! Talk about coming together as a family to make Mallory & Davin’s dream wedding a reality!

One of the things that impressed me about Mallory & Davin was what an amazing group of friends they had in their bridal party!

Having a fabulous time celebrating with their friends was almost just as important as the actual marriage portion of the day!

Their close friendships made for some super fun group photos. Everyone ate tacos, drank margaritas and had a blast!
