Pantone Has An “Ultra” Color For Your 2018 Wedding

Hello, Love Birds!

Wedding season may be over, and engagement season is coming to a close, but with the New Year upon us, wedding planning season has officially commenced! With so many newly engaged couples starting the process of designing their celebration at this time of year, we always love seeing what color stories and aesthetic directions will be hot this year! Recently Pantone announced their color of the year as Ultra Violet. They describe this it as a color that “communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us to the future”. We at Marisa Nicole Events, are all kinds of excited about this choice. We believe this color can point you and your intended towards a starry future together… today we’re sharing tangible ideas and inspiration for doing just that!

Choose to have your besties float down the aisle in this whimsical color. Long or short, fitted or flowy, your gals in this dark and mysterious purple will add a beautiful pop of color to the ceremony.

We love the idea of placing dainty Ultra Violet blooms in clean glass jars around the venue to carry the color throughout the whole wedding. You can also incorporate this hue fabulously in your bridal bouquet to hold your own little bit of magic.

When it comes to incorporating Ultra Violet into details throughout your decor, the possibilities are endless. We particularly love utilizing the vibrant name card crystals to communicate guest seating. Pair this vibrant hue with a complementary color such as white to allow the purple to pop.

Bringing this foxy color into your meal is a cinch by utilizing purple crystals in your cake design. We highly suggest that you keep your base primarily white, so that this year’s enchanting color can shine, yet not overwhelm the details of your day.

Color Pairings

Ultra Violet is a beautiful and strong color, so we suggest that you pair it with a muted tones or more neutral hues. Taking a bit of inspiration from last year’s Pantone color, green creates a perfect pair if you want to add more color but not overwhelm the setting. The ideal detail tones to go with these two colors would be crisp whites, dreamy grays, and bright warm metallics.

We could not have asked for a more exciting color for 2018. Hopefully, this vibrant hue will be symbolic of a dynamic, extraordinary year ahead! We are wishing love and happiness to all you newly engaged couples out there and hope our hysteria for this wisteria colored bloom inspired you. Let us know in the comments if you would incorporate this color for your ultra special day. Cheers!

Bridal Beauty: Accessorizing for the Win!

Hello, lovelies!

The New Year is here and many of of our brides for 2018 will soon start working out the details of what she will be wearing on her wedding day. Most of our brides find their dress early on in the planning stage, but figuring out what to wear with and on top of said dress, can be quite overwhelming. From jewelry to shoes and from sashes to cover-ups, accessorizing yourself on the most photographed day of your life can be a daunting task. But have no fear, there’s no need to stress! Marisa Nicole Events is here to share a few tips and ideas on accessorizing your wedding day look that will make sure you feel timeless and absolutely stunning on your big day.

Tip #1: Start with your hair and determine supporting accessories from there.

There are many different accessories you can use to add some glam to your gown. First things first, figure out the general shape/style of how you want to wear your hair, as this will help determine the rest of your look. Will your hair be up, down, or something inbetween? Do you plan to decorate with a hair comb, traditional veil or floral headpiece? These details will help determine the type of jewelry you want to use on the rest of your body. On top of your wedding and engagement ring, you can add more bling and sparkle with a bracelet, earrings, or necklace. If you are getting married in a cold climate, you may decide to add gloves to keep the hands warm or some sort of cover-up. When it comes to your wedding day kicks, try your best to choose shoes that are at least semi comfy but foxy as well. Feel free to have some fun in this area!

Tip #2: Use your neckline as a guide.

The right accessories to use can be determined by the style of your neckline. For sweetheart or strapless necklines, opt for chandelier earrings, or a necklace or florals for a pop of color. For a v-neck, a necklace with a simple pendant would be a perfect fit. For a halter or high neckline, draw the attention to your hair with a fab headpiece or floral crown.

Tip #3: Keep it tailored (simple is sometimes the sweetest way to go)!

Although it may be tempting to use every type of accessory out there, try to avoid wearing too much. It was Coco Chanel who said “Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off.” We think the same principle applies on your wedding day. You want to your accessories overwhelming the beauty of your dress. We are looking to create a lovely balance between your to-die-for dress and fab accessories. If you want to wear an accessory but aren’t sure if it will be too much, we suggest you skip it. Keep it simple! It’s the best way to accentuate your dress and natural beauty.

Tip #4: Choose accessories that match your natural skin tone.

When it comes to dressing your jewelry, match your tones and metals with both your skin and dress colors. Some metals tend to look better on certain dress tones. A general rule of thumb is that warmer tones work with warmer metallics (i.e. – match your ivory dress with gold earrings and a gold bracelet) and cooler tones work with cool metallics (i.e – match your ice white gown with silver earrings and a silver necklace).

Tip #5: Be yourself!

The most important thing to remember when accessorizing is to just be yourself! You don’t want to try a look that you don’t feel confident in or doesn’t come natural to how you accessorize on a daily basis. Remember, it’s your big day. So be you!

Using these tips and tricks will make you the ultimate accessory expert for the best day of your life. Now that you know what to do, let’s style that dress!

2018 Edition: New Year Resolutions For Our Brides!

Hello there, lovelies!

The New Year is just about to peek over the horizon, and we’re all dazzled up with excitement to welcome in 2018! With all the glitz, fizzy drinks, and resolutions, there’s no shortage of anticipation for good things to come… including a fabulous wedding day! For those of you who will be tying the knot in the coming year, we want to give you a few little tips going into 2018…  Here’s our 5 Bridal Resolutions!

Resolution 1: Accept the help!

Many times brides will turn family and friends down when they ask if there’s anything they can do to help with the big day. Let people help you if they offer!  Many hands make light work in making your wedding a success, and you’ll be glad you did. Delegating jobs, tasks, DIYs, and roles will make your life much easier (plus keep picky mamas or curious aunties busy and feeling important)!

Resolution 2: Be you on your wedding day.

Many brides go into the wedding process with big plans to be “sweating for the wedding”. We’re all for staying healthy and fit, but making any kind of drastic body change right before your wedding is never a good idea. And by drastic, we mean extreme workout regimens, dieting, a new hair color, or visits to the tanning salon. Otherwise, years down the road, you’ll look back on photos and either be pining for your crash dieted body or wonder what you were thinking when you got that spray tan. We get that you want to look your best, but you also want to look like yourself. Be beautiful you!

Resolution 3: Go easy on yourself.

As humans, we tend to be quick to compare ourselves to others, and we totally get it. It’s very easy to compare your wedding planning and design to what you’ve seen on Pinterest, Instagram, wedding blogs, at the weddings of friends, etc. Don’t be too hard on yourself if something doesn’t come out as fantastic as you pictured.  We want you to remember that in the end, it’s going to be you and your sweetheart’s wedding day, nobody else’s… which leads into our next resolution.

Resolution 4: Keep your eyes on the prize.

The most important resolution is to not get so caught up in the planning, prepping, and coordinating that you forget who you’re marrying. Don’t let creating the most beautiful wedding in the world get in the way of your relationship with your fiancée. Remember that the goal here is to be married, not have a wedding. In the end, it’s all about you two together.

Resolution 5: Enjoy it!

Making decisions, working with family, and planning complications can get stressful, but just be in the moment. If you’re not having a least a little fun during the process, it’s time to take a deep breath and a step back. You can never get back this exciting time of preparation, so try to be present and enjoy each moment.

We hope that you will remember these tips going into 2018, especially if your wedding is just a couple months away! Cheers to your very special day coming up very soon, and to ringing in the New Year!
